Ummmm, having grown up in Appalachia, I can tell you that this is real. This person is not making this up. My friends and I had a similar experience at church camp in the mountains in the mid-80s. That smell… the sound… the look of that thing… it stays with you. It never really goes away.

I’m obsessed with all these stories, but it’s got me thinking, has anyone actually ever been injured by these things? Or worse? Like what happens if you don’t run… or does everyone just always manage to escape 👀

my theory about the creatures of the Appalachian and other such is that all the legends, cryptids and stuff came into existence because we basically manifested it into existence. like we all believed it in so hard that it's now so deeply rooted in our collective consciousness, so strong and insistent in it, that it just became reality at some point. kind of like a couple of years ago people on mass manifested that recording a video to a sound would bring you cash and it actually did do so. it's all a mass manifestation that became reality I'm telling yall

WV Appalachian here. There are so many things you don’t know about here in the mountains. I have met many a creature in my childhood exploration of these woods. Be careful out here where the Old Gods come to heal.
