I finally understand why Martin Kabu said Hon. Isaac Adongo has no classmate in Ghana when it comes to the economy. After listening to this interview again, I now understand why Mussah Daquan once suggested that the opposition NPP should borrow Adongo for four years because what the NPP lacked was simply an Adongo in their party. Imagine having an Economic Management Team but still needing to borrow the opposition’s MP to explain your own economy to you. Bolga Central is seriously blessed. We didn’t just elect an MP; we elected a man who could sit in Parliament and dissect the government’s economic policies while those responsible were busy telling Ghanaians that “the fundamentals were strong. Hon. Adongo kept asking the uncomfortable questions. He kept pointing at the debt, the reckless borrowing, the economic mismanagement and the dangers ahead. But instead of listening, the NPP treated him like the problem. Today, history has answered the question. The economy went into crisis, Ghana lost access to international capital markets, debt restructuring became unavoidable, and the country’s credit rating was pushed into junk territory. And now some people are surprised that Adongo was shouting all those years. Ei! So the man was not making noise after all? Maybe the NPP should have listened to the man they wanted to “borrow” instead of trying to discredit him. And let’s not forget: Adongo’s relentless economic advocacy became one of the strongest opposition voices exposing the NPP’s economic record ahead of the 2024 elections. So when you hear people say “Adongo has no classmate,” don’t argue. Just go back and listen to the interviews. The man was giving economic lessons while the NPP was giving Ghanaians economic excuses.
