The judge in that Texas case even referenced Dolly Parton in the decision.

This is a great example of how perception and assumptions effects our reality odds are the reason why no one noticed is because they didn’t expect the actual Dolly Parton to participate in a drag queen look a like contest so when she showed up acting like a drag queen people perceived her as someone else this actually happens a lot when you refuse to believe someone could be somewhere you don’t see them even when they are I’m pretty sure the only people who might actually be immune or at least resistant to this error in the brain’s recognition are autistic’s since our brain is too detail and pattern oriented for example I was able to recognize someone I barely knew from middle school in college when I ran into them at a tux shop because they were fitting my suit for my cousin’s wedding and the reason I could recognize him was because I physically cannot forget a face once I’ve actually seen it so unless someone’s face completely changes down to the core details I will always recognize them so long as I’ve had at least 1 actual conversation with them the same thing happened with one of my college friends who I only decided to talk to because he used to take the same bus as me to school in freshman year even thought we went to different high schools I had one conversation with him and never forgot his face again now that just might be me it might not be a universal experience for all autistic’s but I felt like it was a cool fact
