Hawthorne two towns over about 15-20 years ago debated fiercely about having a turf field. This was the exact reason they did not put a field in because it’s a major risk and very expensive to fix.

Lived in town for 26 years and this is ongoing problem. How come this is still an issue and unresolved. Recall in 1999 hurricane Floyd dropped 9+ inches of rain in 24 hours and the field was a mess.
