@mordecaimuriisa: Uganda, and especially the people of Tooro Kingdom, are still mourning the passing of Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV. A lot has already been said about his life and legacy, as I shared in my commentary yesterday from his visionary leadership and deep Christian faith to his joy, humility and commitment to his people. His 31-year reign, which began when he was only three years old, made him the longest-serving Omukama in the history of Tooro Kingdom. But in mourning his passing, many people are also discovering another, less frequently told chapter of his story: the turbulent history of the Tooro throne itself a history marked by conflict, violence, exile and the premature deaths of several Abakama who occupied the throne before him. Perhaps nobody could tell that story better than NTV’s Solomon Kaweesa.
