I'm retired I have been in construction most of my life, was a lecturer in construction taught 1st year 2nd year 3 year and advanced craft joiners in Scotland and have never heard of a rake wall, who makes this stuff up.

I'm a retired Master Carpenter with over 30 years of experience, and we ALWAYS called it a "Gable Wall". I never even heard anyone call it a "Rake Wall" until about 5 years ago. - Must be some Quebecois term.
