Avatar fandom itself can't appreciate the character of Hama. Nuance is lost on the people who have never experienced war due to their privilege. The western propaganda needs to demonize people like Hama so the people they hurt don't raise up to demand accountability. Particularly, I see the Vietnam war in this scenario.
