We can have a conversation about improving post partum care and awareness but Lindsay Clancy should not be the poster child for post partum issues or even mental health issues. That’s not what caused her to kill the kids.

Lindsay didn’t even take her mental health seriously. She said she knew she wasn’t going to get better if she didn’t stop seeking help from multiple providers, commit to a treatment plan and stay consistent with her medications. She didn’t. She was in a very privileged position and had all the tools and resources at her disposal and all she had to do was be honest with at least one of the 6 different providers she had. We know she intentionally lied about the severity of her symptoms because she was “scared she’d have her kids taken away” spin it how you like, but the person that hold more responsibility to someone’s wellbeing is each individual person. She couldn’t hold herself accountable. People want to point fingers at everyone but her. Infantilizing her is doing absolutely nothing for women and the attention postpartum mental health needs.

However she was very privileged when it came to support and healthcare. It was proven in court and even gave a statistic that she had a lot more resources and time off than many women in the US. Many women suffer from PPD but yet people are here supporting a killer

I think the issue is that they are supporting an admitted killer. These people have so deeply convinced themself that she is innocent that they ignore her (and her attorneys) admission of killing these kids. They say they want justice for the kids but then don’t want the person who admits to the killing to be punished for the crime and think she should get off Scott free. You cannot support an acquittal in this case and say you don’t also support letting an admitted killer walk free. So while them saying that these people support killing kids is wrong. It’s not wrong to say they support no punishment for an admitted killer
