Horse was playing. Unfortunately they dont know the damage caused by their play kicks to humans. Never a good idea to walk behind a horse especially when they are playing. If a horse kicks with aggression, they usually turn their hind end to you and walk backwards as a warning unless their attack is immediate due to danger.
