The Ragnarog arc is important to the story of LTG because it shows that no matter how much he tries to change,, his past will always affect his present, and he will always repeat the cycle. He stays out of conflict, then something reminds him of his past, and he reverts back to his rog mindset. Afterwards, he tries to fix the damage, and even if it works, the cycle is doomed to repeat itself. I envision the rog cycle as Sisyphus and his boulder: Dale pushes his boulder up the hill, but eventually he falls back down. The part that makes this well written is not that it’s nature itself preventing him from changing, but himself. The only thing stopping Dale from change is his own humanity. No matter how much he tries to change, the shadow of his own conscious will always prevent him from change, causing the elf cycle. 10/10 peak character
