We're not allowed to go to the temple or perform any prayers when we're on our period - we are taught that we are "dirty". We are not allowed to go to the temple in pants, and have to be in traditional wear, whereas most men go to the temple in jeans (this is outside of India). Let's not forget that woman and girls have to prepare everything for prayers, which often happen days in advance, despite sickness, exams etc. Afterwards we have to serve the men in our family. Our generation often questions this, but we're told to conform...because, men. It's reinforced by our grandmother's and mother's. It ends here though 🙂↕️What's wild is our teachings are heavily skewed by men, but our core beliefs are different.

damn as hindu thanks for educating us abt this, this is just absolutely horrible and nobody should be defending any of this and everything u said here in this video is valid and all hindus should condemn misogynistic parts present in our relegion, but i'd also like to add that dharma sutra texts are heavily criticized in our community (that's where sati and caste systems are mentioned a lot), and also many hindu philosophies itself contradict each other, it's not one belief. you can be atheist/monotheist/agnostic/polytheist and still be hindu yk

Caste system is not part of Hinduism. It was written by a certain elite groups, British used it and brainwashed Indians. Hinduism is about spirituality and self reliazation nothing to do woth caste.

Dude I don’t know what translation you’re reading, and I know Hinduism has a major problem with deliberately mistranslated scriptures, but you’ve got that story of Krishna and the 16,000 wives TOTALLY wrong- I haven’t even heard it described that way, nor does it make sense in context:
