Excellent explanation, thank you. I do note this type of collapse are not uncommon, however the dramatic loss of ice depth over a very short 10 years as mentioned is something everyone needs to focus on. We cannot continue to deny the effects of changing weather patterns, and the effect it have on were we all live. This is a glacier collapse and we will continue to see rising sea levels and bigger storms. For some, global warming has become a dirty word but there can’t be any denial that the effect of weather changes is having a massive impact on lives and lively hoods. It must be at the forefront of every voter that they want to elect political leaders that believe in the science showing changing weather patterns so that we can work to a more sustainable lives for all into the future. My condolences to everyone affected but the awful tragedy.
