@lily.white161: everyone tells you to study more. nobody tells you to block out the resting first, which is the part that decides whether you're still doing this in three months. the five that survived a full semester of a job, friends, and n3 prep: 1. do the review the second class ends — "tonight" is a lie and "tomorrow" is a worse one. 2. optimize before you grind. an hour of staring at a vocab list is effort, not progress — i could recognize every word on it and still freeze the moment someone spoke to me. 3. find 2-3 people who are ahead of you. doing this alone is just hard mode. 4. no scrolling before noon. (yes, i know where you're reading this.) 5. one hour a day that isn't japanese. anime counts. calling it listening practice does not. the fix for the freezing was actual speaking practice — i do mine in Kana - Language Partner, where you roleplay real everyday situations out loud and the AI character corrects you while you're still mid-sentence. free to start, and it's the app in my bio. save this one 📌 #learnjapanese #anime #japanesestudy #nihongo #jlpt
