I think they just see alot of destruction and say he doesn't save people. Where as Gunns superman shows everyone surviving everywhere even when a giant monster attacks a city not 1 person dies. Snyders is more realistic and better in my opinion.

i hate how the courtroom scene is so misunderstood, people forget lex is also a genius and will do anything to tarnish supermans name, there was a lead lined wheelchair, inside it was a non ticking bomb, by the time it exploded it was the time he noticed, he couldnt do anything if he touched anyone at that speed, whiplash effect or his speed would kill them so he had to stand there in agony and u literally see him shed a tear not aurafarming, he then saves survivors which people completely ignore and this breaks him for the entire movie, only way he could pay back was to give his own life

The only thing they did wrong with this Superman is not giving him more time to brew in order to keep up with Marvels timeline of movies. They rushed into the Batman vs. Superman instead of building the two slowly and giving people time to get hyped into it. Other than that, Cavils Superman is the best representation of balancing both his hero life and human life.
