Hi Katie!! I love your shelf ☺️though id drop you a pic of mine!! I organise by collection/author, genres and i try but sometimes fail by colour!! I have a few accessories on mine although it could use a refresh 😅 i also have a tbr shelf and once they pass to books I’ve actually read they get a place in the organised shelves 🤭 x

I organise my books partly by genre, but mostly they're just alphabetical by author's surname (for me it makes sense because that is how a bookshop or library would be and I can find things easily) 📚 when I first got my bookcases, I wanted them to be as cute as everyone else's and struggled for a while - my advice would be to build up the decorations gradually! Wait until you find things you like, build up a collection, see what other people have, and maybe pick up little sentimental bits as you go 🥰

Honestly, it looks great to me!❤️It's completely up to you what you do with them, don't be too influenced by others - I personally organise by genre and (sort of) by whether they're adult/young adult/middle grade within the genre organisation... I have a few things on my shelf but they're actually kind of messy right now😂 apart from that, my shelves are pretty basic... do whatever feels right for you!
