BKDK hurts because they’re two people who spent years misunderstanding each other while never truly leaving each other’s lives. Bakugo carried guilt he didn’t know how to face, and Deku carried kindness that never stopped reaching back for the person who pushed him away. Every fight between them was really a conversation they couldn’t have with words. Bakugo’s apology wasn’t just an apology it was years of regret finally breaking apart. He admitted he was wrong, admitted he was afraid, and admitted that Deku had always been someone he couldn’t ignore. Deku accepted it without asking for anything in return because, despite everything, he never stopped believing Bakugo could become better. If they had become canon, it wouldn’t have been because they were perfect. It would’ve been because they chose each other after seeing every ugly part of one another. Their story is about forgiveness, growth, and learning that love isn’t always soft it can be messy, painful, and earned over time. Maybe that’s why so many people love BKDK. Not because they needed a happy ending together, but because sometimes the saddest love stories are the ones where two people become each other’s greatest reason to grow... even if the story never calls it love.
