I dont think thats true. Cursed energys core is in the stomach and it starts from the stomach and spreads to through the body (todo explained it in s1). Gojo was cut from the stomach, so logically the cursed energy would somehow disappear idrk how to explain it, but he cant use reverse cursed technique bcz the place where the cursed energy is stored has been cut off. Its my opinion, idk if its true. Plus u can see at the end, he tried to get up. That shows that he was willing yo try again, not someone who just accepted defeat bcz of that reason. Gojo has been a weapon his whole life and he knows that better than anyone, but he chose to stay like that bcz he didnt want anyone to carry the same burden, plus he wanted to raise the next generation in order for them to fight alongside him and to fix jujutsu society. What im saying may not be true, its just my opinion and im not hating on yours.
