My manager cancelled my winter vacation. Turned around and took a second vacation with his family. HR found out he volunteered for me to stay during the holidays. Said he was sorry in the HR meeting and fired me months later.

If an employee has unused PTO, the company cannot deny or revoke it. The management has to find someone to fill in for the employee. It doesn’t matter how “slammed” they are at the time of the employee’s absence. It’s their job.
