@thetrishawolfe: Emotionally immature caregivers can show in many ways, and one of those ways is the intermittent connection parent. Sometimes you’re loved, sometimes you’re criticized, sometimes the parent is blank, sometimes they’re overly emotional. All of that becomes our problem as children because need to feel that our caregivers are okay to feel okay ourselves. That hyper vigilance carries through to adulthood and affects us not just in elating to others but also in relationship to ourselves. #developmentaltrauma #emotionallyimmatureparents #cptsd
why do assume things/circumstances are significantly different now than they were before? maybe it's a boss instead of a parent; for a broke 18 year old there's very little difference. it's wrong to assume the now is better than the past or people don't repeatedly face exploitation of the same or similar type.
