No one out side of America gives a damn about a white picket fence. the maintenance fees are trash and most would go for metal gate/fence or an oak/spruce fence. modern aesthetic or something that blends in with the land

surely the entire point of work is to earn enough money to live on, if the compo was enough to pay the bills and keep him comfortable what would be the point of working? at that point just enjoy your life. who doesn't want to retire before they die?

The American dream has morphed ove time. It used to mean achieving a stable secure job, and a home. Success before in Internet was shaped entirely by the people in your immediate vicinity, your neighbours, coworkers, and relatives. Whereas today social media has morphed this phrase to mean you've made it if you're a 20 year old crypto millionaire, or an influencer with a private jet.

The Australian dream is to be able to live without being stressed the fu$$ out. And centrelink, workers comp, road accident comp and Medicare are part of that. You can go about building a life and know that if something bad happens that it will be ok.
