My worst experience with code enforcement was not being able to rebuild my home after a fire in the town of Kent, NY. After giving up the property that same town is allowing someone to build on that property. The second worse was a code enforcement officer held his hand out looking to be bribed then put a $47,000 fine on my house and told me to walk away from it or go to jail. He and the mayor were running a racket where they were taking homes the the Mayer was running his real estate office out of the mayor’s office. The mayor was arrested and spent time in jail. This was in another upstate NY community
