Beginning with The Transformers in 1984, Peter Cullen gave Optimus Prime the voice that millions of people would grow up hearing and loving. For more than four decades, his deep, powerful voice became inseparable from the character — across animated series, movies, games, and the live-action Transformers films. To so many people, he wasn’t simply the man who voiced Optimus Prime. He was the voice of courage, leadership, strength, and childhood memories that will stay with fans forever. Cullen also brought other beloved characters to life, including Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh, but Optimus Prime became a legacy unlike almost any other voice acting role.
