I have to say that I LOVE the reality that the fact that an employee was recording manager convos, not only didn’t turn into her getting in trouble, but actually resulted in the root cause being identified and resolved, all without employee needing to file anything. That is a fairy tale ending in the corporate world!!!!!

“He was redundant”. That’s so satisfying.

Senior leaders knew this Manager was a problem and did nothing. If not for Bri, he would still be there.

He quit immediately because he could never work somewhere while knowing someone even thought he needed improvement. I doubt he actually even thought he was in the wrong. (Ask me how I know 🙄)

Offended? Or did he realize he was finally caught and bounced instead of looking for ways to improve?

Was the person who reported two years ago still there? If I filed a complaint against my manager and NOTHING happened for months, I’d read the writing on the wall and move on.

"I wouldn't call him a fan favorite with leadership" is a huge 🚩🚩. Basically they all know he's a problem but ignore it.

Should have been dealt with so much sooner though.

See how one shitty manager can ruin a whole team. I bet that team is now thriving without him!

59 managers is too many. The VP would have never been able to know or address these kinds of issues if they’re managing almost 60 people. I assume they’re never doing one-on-ones.

they need to un-flatten that management structure. VP can't manage 59 people

As someone who worked in leadership for years, I appreciate when one actually knows what the span of control is, and utilizes the experts that he works with for their actual expertise! Nice to see one simply listen, acknowledge, have no ego about the situation, and have resolution as the top priority. Finally!!!

Lowkey disappointed with this VP who doesn’t seem particularly perturbed that there are three open files and NO ACTION TAKEN FOR YEARS.
