OK. Here is the step-by-step what I did and how I did it. The only thing I forgot to film was gluing the leather so I will make another video about that later once I find something that needs some repair. Step one. Wash with water and a little bit of dish detergent to remove all of the years of buildup and dirt from previous use. Repeat until the water in the sink runs clear. Step two. Follow the directions on your die box as far as temperature, amount of water and if there needs to be any additives. Mine called for a touch of dish soap and keep the water is specific temperature so I pulled out a candy thermometer. Step three. It’s time to dye the bag. I will admit I was slightly scared when I started this step. But the bag was not going to be used in its current states so it was time to dive in. And went the bag and we waited 30 minutes. Step four. Rinse and repeat until all the die has been removed from the bag. Step five. I used leather glue to glue the two outer layers of leather to the inner leather substrate on the strap in the place where it had come loose. The center stitching was intact on the entire strap so it was really just the edges that needed glue. I also used some leather conditioner on the spots of the strap that got a little bit more water and I intended them to to help bring back some moisture. When leather gets really wet and then dry out, it can crack and be damaged. So if your leather gets wet, don’t forget to condition the leather. Last, I stuffed the bag so that it’s shape can be restored and it’s now hanging so that that it can find a new life and I can’t wait to grab it when I’m headed out for some errands. ##prada##pradanylon##fashiondiy##luxurybag##ritdye
