Honestly knocks me ill the way people talk about this case. “He’s guilty” “she definitely it” “I have this theory” but at the end of the day, 3 babies have been brutally killed. THEY should be the focal point of the case, not whether the armchair detectives can solve the case

Being in psychosis wouldn’t automatically make her not criminally responsible most cases where someone during a psychotic episode killed someone they where still found guilty of murder. Because it takes a complete loss of reality to take away personal agency completely and that is pretty rare. Second of all she sent Patrick out of the house to go do some things so she could kill her children meaning she planned this. This means either Patrick couldn’t tell his own wife was having a high level psychotic episode when she sent him out to go to the store or she wasn’t experiencing psychosis when she was already planning to kill her children.

even in her hypothetical it’s not like being epileptic gets rid of the charges for breaking the vases, they would still get charged and, if they dont pay, thrown into prison

The example she gave changes nothing. If a person like that broke the vases, we could at most relate and feel sorry. But it would never exempt her from the responsibility, she would have to pay one way or another.

She is definitely going to be locked up somewhere for a long time, the debate is just whether it’s a prison or a mental institution. The reason the woman in the video used that analogy is because a lot of people cannot connect the dots between involuntary physical actions and involuntary mental actions. A seizure makes you involuntarily seize, mental psychosis makes your brain involuntarily tell you to do things. The analogy was formulated terribly but you are completely missing the point of why she said it. There is no doubt Lindsay will not live a normal life for at least some decades but the question is where at she will go about her days.
