![I’d like to mention that the fact I depict Japan with feline attributes has nothing to do with anime 😭😭 the stereotypical Japan designs make my blood BOIL I swear (THE SCHOOL UNIFORM 💀💀)— In my interpretation it’s a symbolic/cultural reference alike to Imperial’s attributes (Japan’s being feline and not kitsune like her mother’s is due to radiation) [History] The Japanese Empire (also known as the Empire of Japan or Imperial Japan) was founded on January 3rd, 1868 when Prince Tokugawa Yoshinobu was overthrown by those who followed Emperor Meiji. It was categorized as a nation-state as well as a great power, and it was a unitary absolute monarchy from 1868 to 1889, then a unitary parliamentary semi-constitutional monarchy from 1889 to 1947. In the span of its existence it had three emperors (Emperor Meiji, Emperor Taishō, and Emperor Shōwa). It collapsed on May 3rd, 1947 when the Constitution of Japan came into effect, establishing modern-day Japan. [ADDITIONAL NOTICE REGARDING THE JAPANESE EMPIRE:] Just to be clear considering the content of this drawing specifically, I do not support the atr()c|t|es which the Japanese Empire comm|tted, and I am aware that modern Japan and the Empire of Japan are two different things (the art is not attempting to portray them as the same, essentially). It is important to acknowledge what the Japanese Empire did, such as the occupations of China and Korea. It is important to be aware that the R|s|ng S\/n Flag is a flag of war, and thus is not to be treated lightly (can be compared to the N/\z| Sw/\st|k/\). I do not support the horrors of which the flag is associated with.
