Hey! My roommate tried to fight me week 2. They still didn’t want to move me, so I talked to an RA I knew and she said the magic words are “I am scared to return to my dorm, my roommate may harm me and I am living in fear” they have to move you legally after bc if anything happens they are then legally responsible. I was being offered a new dorm 15 minutes after that statement and moved asap

ermm as an RA, if you feel unsafe they should have emergency housing they can place you in while they look for more permanent roommate situations..

once two weeks pass i’m pretty sure they start allowing people to switch dorms. last year i was able to switch within the first week bc one of my roommates bfs was making weird comments abt me but there needs to be a safety issue for them to do it earlier

Guys, one of my uni roomates takes drugs and makes me feel unsafe and the other is almost 30 and perhaps having an of (rumors), even if they didn t do something to me literally, still. The have morally different principles from mine, taking into consideration that they are almost 10 years older, talking about guys and drugs, while I m trynna study. 💔💔 Am I dramatic if I complain about this and move rooms or??

I’d honestly say “move me or I will sue you if anything happens to me.” And I’m gonna sound like ai but please document incidents and email the school as well so there’s a paper trail that you tried to move but they did nothing

Your RA has a boss, go to them. Advocacy of yourself and learning when you have to "go up the chain" to protect you is one of the biggest life lessons you unfortunately need to stumble through a young adult on your own, you’re just getting it very early 😭
