thank goodness thw government gives cattle ranchers about $1 billion per year in direct subsides. This doesnt count the three to five billion in indirect subsides for cattle ranchers thru corn and soybean subsides.

Legit question because I’m curious. So if your calves basically cover your payment and your expenses. How do you turn a profit? I’d assume that’s the ultimate goal is to make money rather than just make the payments. Also, you got support from St. James MO. I think you sent too far from me

Calves sales are good, but retention and rebuilding is way down which affects futures and processors are at around -300 dollars a head so. If you are only going to sell calves you are good.
