Kids learn inclusion by actually living it—not just by being told, “Everyone is different and everyone matters.” They get to know a little girl who communicates and experiences the world differently, and they learn to be patient, gentle, helpful, and comfortable around someone whose abilities aren't the same as theirs. And Liv gets something equally important: she gets to belong. She's not there simply to be an object lesson; she's a child who deserves classmates, experiences, relationships, fun, and a place in her community. I'm so happy you get time to do other things, she is happy and others get to love her. A beautiful thing.

School OT here. We do love your kids. We worry about them. We think of them when we’re not at work and even after they’ve left our caseload. Sometimes we even buy our own supplies with just one particular student in mind. Yay for Liv!

I taught mainly second grade for years. I think many parents would be shocked and so pleased to realize that teachers really do love their students. They were always ‘my kids’ and I really loved them so much!

I think I met Liv once when I was a substitute teacher! She did seemed very well loved by her aide and other teachers.

Some of these comments don’t pass the vibe check. As a public school teacher, I’m here to remind everyone that attending school is her right! I teach high school biology and while I am a general ed teacher, I co-teach with a special education teacher. We have had students with different diagnoses but similar cognitive levels to Liv in our class and it’s been a true pleasure to teach them!

My son is mildly autistic and his best buddy at school is a child with a genetic disorder and cognitive disabilities. They’re a perfect pair - he yammers at her all day about whatever bug he’s interested in and she loves playing with him. They’re the sweetest
