Canned dog food is better for them but with the food you put out you will feed foxes, rats and of course cats

You can buy specific hedgehog food. I recommend Brambles semi-moist. On the pack it says put it on a shallow dish but I’ve filmed the hedgehogs in my garden and they seem to prefer to hoover it directly off the grass. That also makes it a less attractive proposition for cats. If you put it out at dusk, it’s unlikely squirrels will nick it. My squirrels come first thing in the morning and at tea-time. They’ve fecked off home by 8pm.

In some places there are hedgehog tunnels and hedgehog bridges to help them cross busy roads. Where there are no bridges they put up signs for the drivers to take care.

You need to stay for at least 3 months to experience being here, only trouble is that you will miss it badly when you go back to USA 👍
