I actually wanted to analyze all of this and show it to you guys, but there are so many references surrounding TM Opera O, I also remember finding an analysis on Hatena Blog written by someone who genuinely seemed to be an Opera O fan, and it went surprisingly deep into the references. some references and pieces of symbolism are fairly easy to recognize. One is “O Sole Mio,” one of Opera O’s titles. Another is the speech she gives in Uma Musume: Beginning of a New Era, where she calls Jungle Pocket and other “young Werther” a reference to Goethe’s The Sorrows of Young Werther, as well as Massenet’s opera Werther. Opera O has so much amount of literary, musical, theatrical, and opera references throughout her characterization, which is why doing a complete analysis is much more complicated.
