This is just bad police work. They should have found out 1st whose guns they were and 2nd if the boyfriend was violent towards her and how bad it got. She could have been extremely afraid of him and that’s why she had the guns.

On that weapon, the hammer did not need to be cocked before firing, just pulling the trigger causes the hammer to come all the way to full cocked position and then fires. After it’s fired the first time the slide auto re cocks the weapon.
