No. "a new star approaches" is actually a reference to the Chinese saying "guest star invades the imperial constellation" - the latter being Zhongli whose literal title is Yanwand Dijun (Rex Lapix) meaning Lord of Rock and EMPEROR, the former means Childe. The introduction of 1.1 version: "Now as the spirit of the sixth, Rex Lapis, returns to heavens, as ancient god enroaches upon Liyue once more. A NEW STAR SHALL VIOLATE THE DIVINE SANCTRUM, even as the city quails under the dark tides..." Here Rex Lapis is literally Zhongli, ancient god that enroaches is Osial, and new star who violates divine sanctrum is Childe

I have a theory: if there are three moons—the "Three Moon Sisters"—then perhaps there are also three suns: the Morning Star, the Heavenly Star, and a third one that HoYoverse has yet to reveal. I wouldnt make sense for him to have been the sun king first he was known as the lord of geo even back then next the solar chariot was said to have left the region before the archon war next the sun king was the husband of the 3 moon sisters meaning he would've mostly died along side them after they left the moons shadow

my head canon is more that he's "heavens star" in the sense that he's celestia's best asset, or best lap dog if you will😅 i never have trusted zhongli since learning he made the contract with the gnosis. Allowing his nation to be almost destroyed so that "maybe" humans can overcome that unnecessary crisis.🙄 Plus it further my distrust of him with how much neuvillette wants him gone more than the other archons. He likely betrayed dragon kind (be it he's geo sovereign or offed the geo sovereign)
