I’ve been getting the flu vaccine every year for 12 years. Yes, I still get the flu every now and again even after having gotten the vaccine. Here’s the difference: before I started getting the vaccine, the flu would put me out for 1 & 1/2 to 2 weeks. And when I say “put me out”, I mean bedridden. With the vaccine, symptoms last between 4 & 5 days and are much less severe. Pretty big difference, imo, and it makes getting the vaccine 100% worth it even if doesn’t prevent me from getting the flu 100% of the time. And no, the flu vaccine does not give you the flu.

We have been getting the flu vaccine for years. The only time it was an issue is when they made the wrong one a few years ago and my kid got the other strand.

I’ve had flu vaccinations in the past and I still got the goddamn flu. Unless you tell me there’s 100% chance that I won’t contract something. I’m not going to vaccinate against it. Doesn’t really make a whole lotta sense.

You said if the child has a history of anaphylaxis? Is that correct? To specifically the flu vaccine or anaphylaxis at all? Over here with a kiddo with Idiopathic Anaphylaxis and we’ve gotten it every year no problem and now I’m like… 🤔 I’m hoping I misheard!

we don't get the vaccine because we always have horrible reactions to it so our doctor advised we avoid it... we are a vaccination house though lol
