I used the la roche posay gentle moisturizing cleanser and then the la roche posay triple repair moisturizer then Vaseline on my lips ALWAYS! I also had terrible cystic acne for several years and hated myself and my skin. Accutane was the best thing I have ever done. I did right at 11 months of it. It will get worse around month 2-4 and then month 5 was a turning point for me and it just got better every month after that. I started here…

im 3 weeks in with accutane and im miserable with my acne rn:/ looking at the positive and hoping the purge is worth it at the end. keep your head up girl, us girlies in it together 🩶 i’ve been using the la roche posay cicaplast baume b5 cream and spray, little on the pricey side but so worth it for dry skin 🫶🏻

So before I started on Accutane I had a full face routine that I would do like veryyyy religiously. I asked my derm if I should continue because my face wash had salicylic acid and she basically told me that I didn’t need to do any kind of routine. The meds itself will literally just do the work. I currently have dried out skin, like extremely bad. It feels like a layer of my skin has burned away. The only things that have helped me is a gentle non foaming face wash (I’m using cerave gentle) followed up we with cerave intensive moisturizer while my face is slightly damp from showering. Then on my super dry patches mainly around my chin I’m using Aquaphor/vaseline and tons of blistex on my lips!!! If I use makeup I’m only using bb/cc creams. Annnnd trying to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated! You got this girl 🫶🏼✨

It consumed my every waking moment morning till night I would look in the mirror 24/7. I had to get checked over before I started because my mental was so so bad. I didn’t leave my house I’m not kidding for 6 months. I’m on day 149. And my skin is smooth it’s ever been in my life I purged so bad for the first 90 days I cried every single day. I promise you my face looked like yours and now people comment on how clear my skin is. Keep going ! It’s gunna clear I promise you I did 5 different anti biotics , spironolactone nothing helped my skin not even a little bit. This is a miricle medication you really won’t regret this your confidence will come back just give it 3-5 months to see progress. Use a gentle cleanser and moisturer and a good barrier cream. Omega 3, anti histamine , vit d , zinc and pro biotic with your pill. Make sure you take your pill with enough fat. 20g at least. Count your days down it gives you motivation that’s what got me through and I’m just about to start month 6. ❤️Good luck ❤️

as someone with the same exact skin type i feel everything you said!! i just started spironolactone a week ago and i have no hope because i have so many cysts that just aren’t getting better and are so painful. we can do this together hun! im so proud of you for being vulnerable enough to come on here and talk about this! your gorgeous always! remember that. things will get better with time!💕

I LOVE YOUR HONESTY it’s the best thing about you, I promise everything good will come back to you in time remember when I was in the exact same state and here I am a year later off of Accutane with perfect skin I’m so so glad that you decided to make the final push and go on it, in a year you will look back and thank yourself for trusting so many people who shared there own personal experience. If anyone can get through it it’s you I PROMISE it WILL GET BETTER you will feel like yourself again and I can’t wait for you to find that because you deserve it. Just know you are always beautiful and cyst can’t define who you are as a person.

i have felt EVERY feeling youre feeling... i'm still 3 weeks out from my follow up to start accutane.. i was supposed to start a few weeks ago but insurance didnt approve my visit and the month wait being doubled is literal hell 😭

Baby, I know EXACTLY how you feel. i’ve been dealing with my acne for 5 YEARS. All throughout high school and even now. i’ve had the worst self confidence and i’ve let it control almost every aspect of my life. I didn’t want to go out with friends, didn’t want to see family, and it ruined my excitement of getting ready.
