Born and raised here in Rio, never once been robbed. My first time getting pickpocket was in Paris 😢then robbed in Barcelona 😭 I still love Paris and Barcelona and will visit again, I can't let a few bad people ruin the whole experience or city's reputation ❤️Having that said, you're always welcome in Rio, my friend ❤️🇧🇷

Depends. Not everybody. I am a 6 foot tall Black male from the DC area in the USA. Traveling solo always. Nobody ever bothers me in Rio , Salvador, etc. My phone is out everywhere ..in the favelas,etc. I have never had anything stolen. People walk up to me asking questions speaking Portuguese…and laugh when they realize I don’t speak Portuguese. Maybe I just look USA HARD, ROUGH…but I also dress like the locals. 😳😳😳😳

Rio is fine. Its beautiful and so much to see and do..the trains buses shopping is totally safe.

I had a friend who visited Rio and he went out every alone. I guess his luck ran out. They beat the crap out of him, stole his wallet, camera, cell phone, watch and shoes. I told him, don’t do it!

Love Rio. Thing I liked to see was families coming to Copacabana at the end of the day. Mum and dad had finished work and come straight to the beach with the family. Kids ran straight to the ocean. Looked so peaceful.
