July 4th, 2026…the day I lost the only person who genuinely loved me, cared for me, fought for me, and watched me grow my mom.💔
Funny enough, earlier this year, I went through one of the darkest periods of my life after I was arrested by SARS over allegations of murder and fraud. I had no friends to come through for me. It was just my mom and my girl who stood by me at the station.
My mom was there every single day, standing beside me, together with the lawyer, begging and pleading for her son’s innocence. She never gave up on me. She kept fighting until I was finally granted bail. And when I still didn’t have enough money to secure my freedom, she somehow found a way and paid my bail herself….She fought so hard to keep me here… she fought for my life, my freedom, and my future. And yet, just months later, that same woman was fighting for her own life and I couldn’t save her.
That is a pain I don’t think I will ever truly be able to explain. I keep asking myself why I was given another chance when she didn’t get hers. Why she had to leave when there was still so much I wanted to do for her. I’m still typing this with tears in my eyes, trying to accept that I will never hear her voice again, never see her smile, and never have the chance to say “thank you” enough times for everything she did for me.
Mom, I hope wherever you are, you can see me. I hope you know that I remember everything. Every sacrifice. Every prayer. Every time you stood up for me when nobody else did. I promise to keep going. I promise to become the man you always believed I could be. And someday, somehow, I hope I can make you proud from here. ❤️🩹
Rest peacefully, Mom. I love you, and I’ll carry you with me for the rest of my life. 🕊️💔
