One of my most asked questions is how to use chrome✨ This video shows how to do chrome nails, as well as 2 different ways to do chrome nail art. Full description of each method below ⬇️ 1. Full nail of chrome: • Paint a thin layer of a gel polish in the same colour as the chrome that you’ll use (I find this helps to create the most solid chrome look). Cure this for 60 secs. • Paint a thin layer of no wipe top coat and cure for 60 secs. • Once the top coat has been cured, thoroughly rub the chrome of your choice over the whole nail. • Lightly brush away any excess chrome from the nail. • Very lightly paint a layer of no-wipe top coat on top of the chrome, being careful not to disturb the chrome. Be sure to cap the edge of the nail, this will help the chrome design last longer. 2. Chrome nail art method 1: • Apply a thin layer of no wipe top coat and cure for 60 secs. • Thoroughly rub the chrome onto the area of the nail that you intend to create the nail art on. Use the other side of the applicator to rub away any excess chrome. • Paint your design using no-wipe top coat on top of the chrome and cure for 60 secs. • Wipe the whole nail with an alcohol wipe. This will remove all of the chrome, except for the chrome that is left underneath the cured top coat. • Apply a layer of top coat over the whole nail and cure for 60 secs. 3. Chrome nail art method 2: • Apply a layer of no-wipe top coat. Buff the whole nail extremely lightly with a file with a high grit (I used a 280 buffing file). Removing all of the shine from the nail will prevent the chrome from sticking to it. You can use a matte top coat but I find that to be a less effective. • Paint your design in no-wipe top coat and cure for 60 secs. • Rub the chrome onto the nail, and it should only stick to the design. • Brush away any excess chrome from the nail. • Lightly apply a layer of no-wipe top coat over the whole nail, making sure to cap the edges. Cure for 60 secs. #chromenails #nailinspo #nailart #naildesign #nailtutorial #chromenailtutorial #beginnernails
