President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo started the Northshore Apparel project in Ghana.The initiation and political narrative surrounding the factory involve two different administrations:Project Commencement: The project officially started under the One District, One Factory (1D1F) initiative pioneered by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. The sod-cutting ceremony took place on February 28, 2024. It was established as a wholly Ghanaian-owned private venture by CEO Chief Alhaji Nurudeen Mohammed, utilizing the state's 1D1F framework and credit from the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB).Project Completion & Inauguration: The factory was officially commissioned and opened on August 28, 2026, by President John Dramani Mahama. Under his administration, the completed facility has been integrated into the government's 24-Hour Economy Policy as its flagship tenant.The factory is located in Savelugu in the Northern Region and is designed to create up to 10,000 jobs at full capacity.
