It’s crazy to me that all throughout S1-S2, the showrunners insisted on making Rhaenyra’s team the morally and emotionally superior team, erasing all of Rhaenyra’s cruelty, while the Greens were framed as rapists, killers, religiously hypocritical, etc. But now, S3 rolls around and they’re trying to make Team Green the better choice. It’s so clear with the “King has risen” and “Queen of Bastards” labelling now, and making Rhaenyra a laughable ruler; not because she’s cruel, but because she’s incompetent and surrounded by other incompetent people aside from Daemon. It’s like the showrunners can’t handle nuance from both sides and can’t accept that there is no right team and both have flaws at the same time. Instead, they’ve watered down this greatly nuanced and captivating story by flattening them into team “good” and team “bad” and thinking that switching which team is “good” or “bad” halfway is nuanced.
