I got used to washing it every day, it's just so ingrained in my routine now that I barely think when doing it. I also don't mix sponges, so there's 1 for human dishes, 1 for dog dishes and 1 for cat dishes. Maybe it's just bc I'm a bit of a cleaning freak 😅

Idk. I wash her bowl by hand every week. She’s been eating biofilm for over 10 yrs. Have never had any health issues with her. Or the previous 2 dogs. It seems we’re being shown all the things we’ve been doing wrong & not just this post. For me it’s been for over 50 yrs. I’m still alive. My dogs haven’t died from biofilm complications. I’m gonna keep on keepin on.

Would we use the same plate over and over without cleaning it, of course not And why would we not clean our dog bowls,

is there any research that the bacteria in that biofilm, in dog water bowls, is harmful to the dog if ingested? I suspect the bacteria growing is the same that lives in their mouth normally. so maybe not great for dental health?
