I went to Mansfield schools and I was taught this history. One of teachers who taught us that history was actually a black student during that time of segregation and all here in Mansfield.

I was the only Black Police Officer from 1989-1996, before I was hired I went through some much from the City Of Mansfield. I knew I have to prove myself and was selected Officer Of The Year my first year.

Yep. I can tell you they separated Mansfield High and Mansfield Summit for a reason. When I graduated from Summit it was the minority school. They drew a line right down the center of Turner Warnell. The minority neighborhood on Summit’s side got sent there, while kids right across the street went to Mansfield.

I've been in Texas for 47 years and there's still so much history that I'm still learning. When I was a teenager, we moved from HEB to Springtown. In the late 90's-early 2000's, there were still men handing out Klan flyers at the Azle Whataburger.

Born and raised in Mansfield(still here). I remember as a kid the minorities stayed more on West Broad. We only went on the other side to get food and school. When it start getting dark we knew where to be. Nobody talks about the hangings and racism except family.
