It’s actually very common for older homes. My grandparents only have a four bedroom house but they had six kids so grandma and grandpa slept out in the living room in a Murphy bed that came out of a cabinet. The cabinets were open and there was Murphy bed that way all the rooms in the house went for the kids and they have been doing this probably since the early 50s
