What I think about is how Silco knew baby Powder before her parents died, before the bridge riot. So he must have held her as a newborn at some point. Powder doesn't remember him, she was too young. But Silco does. And I wonder what he was thinking when she threw herself into his arms.

Silco raised her for all the wrong reasons and only realized until the very end. His line, "Is there something more undoing than a daughter?" said a lot. He loved Powder, but his thirst for Zaun blinded him. He did raise Jinx into a weapon. That's what ultimately killed him.

I don't think so. Jinx (or Powder) never really seemed bothered by it. Rather i think its part of the shows mirroring of Vander and Silco. When Vander passes, Silco becomes the ruler of sorts of Zaun, which slowly pulls Silco to realize that Vander was doing the right thing. The makeup is a metaphorical and literal codification of himself, something to look more respectable rather than something to fear.

I like to imagine Silco really did love her, in a sort of twisted way, he was her uncle and she was the spitting image of his late friend, they were both missing pieces of themselves and the other filled it, even if just for a while

it genuinely broke me when it was revealed that silco knew powder and vi before they were even born. i originally thought that he only knew *of* them through vanders association, but he was their actual uncle as well. i just wanted to say this because that scene in season two really gave this hug more meaning.
