those are definitely Lime tree nuts or Linden Nüsschen you can make chocolate out of em and the flowers can be dried and drank as tea. very good for your immune system

I have one in front of my bedroom window. we make tea with the flowers. mid to late june is best time for harvesting.

You can pick the flowers, dry them, and then you can make tea out of them. That tea terns from yellow to reddish orange if after browning you leave the flowers in.🤗

It always confuses me when we call those lime trees, because those nuts are very clearly not citrus fruit. I still do it, because that's how we've decided to do things in the UK, but I don't like it.
