I got threw in right at the deep end when I first came into children's care. poor kid had FAS and adhd. legged it everyday. smashed the house up daily. assaulted staff. most staff were terrified of them because of how they acted. but let me tell you, that kid was attached to my hip. never laid a finger on me. and genuinely was so lovely towards me and a couple of other staff. unfortunately they were taken to secure just after christmas and it still breaks my heart 💔

As an ex kid in care your right. Some children you’ll be working with are like the devil incarnate!! Trauma really does a number to a lot of these kids 😭😭😭

I wish I could do these kind of jobs but I know I’m too emotional, I wouldn’t know how to switch my emotions off and stay in work mode 😔 I just wouldn’t be able to sit back and see certain things, I’d end up getting into trouble I just know it 🤦🏽♀️

I had 2 interviews with 2 different homes, I have experience but they BOTH ghosted me afterwards, despite saying they'd be in touch. If they want staff, they'd probably be better letting people know the outcome instead of ghosting because they cba.
