@caseyrockstarflipper: Is Walmart Dynamic Pricing About to Take Over? Digital price tags and electronic shelf labeling are rolling out across big box grocery stores—raising major concerns about dynamic pricing. Should stores be allowed to change grocery prices on a whim based on weather, rush hours, or customer demand, or should prices stay strictly static? #DynamicPricing #Walmart #GroceryShopping #ConsumerNews
Casey! That’s not what the digital price labels are there for. With paper there is 100’s of price changes daily, some of which are actually prices going down and not up. Because of employee power or employee mistakes sometimes those got missed or not changed in time, forgotten. With these digital price labels “price changes” can be done in an instant. They’re not done in the middle of the day as you’re suggesting. Furthermore, the digital price labels also allows the functionality of you trying to locate the product you’re looking for, either you saw online or just everyday purchase because the price labels light up when you locate it using your phone. Also, it does the same for the employee looking for the product you wished to be delivered to your house. It lights up for the employee looking for that product, guaranteeing the employee picking the correct product you chose.

Walmart does NOT partake in dinamic pricing. It takes and ACTUAL employee to go to the shelf to change the price. It DOES NOT change on its own.

it's not about dynamic pricing, it's about saving time and money manually changing labels when prices change

So instead of banning digital price tags just make it against the law to have dynamic pricing

Prices change mid day with paper tags too. Literally all the time. This just ensures accuracy in the job itself.

I am so sorry man but you are highly misinformed because when it does change the price it flashes and blacks out and then shows the new price. it just doesn't change and you don't see it. you notice the change so there is no dynamic pricing whatsoever. I think you need to stop this misinformation spreading around

If you see it changed midday, that means a store associate did the price change.

The price tags arnt able to change like that. The reason for those price tags are in the app you can have them light up when you search for a product, it in turn makes the people that are shopping for pickup customers more efficient as well. Making Walmart more money because they can shop for more customers

There is no evidence of dynamic pricing. The digital tags are to put certain items on clearance or rollback company wide.

As a legislator do your research before you talk about "dynamic pricing" being a thing at Walmart. Those digital tags aren't that easy to change prices.

You just wanna use paper tags in the digital age? Prices always change...just now it doesn't take a person to manually change out the tag.
Ever seen the wrong price on the shelf? it's because someone accepted the price change and was too lazy to swap out the tag. Digital Shelf tags fixed this. It's about saving labor and being accurate, not adjusting based on who's shopping or what's going on.
