Our whole lives were turned upside down and everything that we wanted or dreamed of has been ripped away from us because our bodies have simply stopped functioning normally. Not only do we have to grieve who we once were, but we also have to grieve what will become our new life and our new “normal.” Yes, it’s always important to try and stay positive to try and keep your stress levels down, but it’s truly unfair to think that people with chronic illnesses and disabilities should be happy 100% of the time and never get to share how they really feel inside.
