Some cheetah info for people! The reason zookeepers can do this is 1. Cheetahs are not considered big cats and 2. They’re very docile! They have much more shy personalities and don’t view humans as prey. In fact there’s many clips of wildlife photographers being approached by cheetahs. Some cheetahs in zoos actually have emotional support dogs as companions to help them be braver. Walking a cheetah like this, while it looks concerning, is actually really great enrichment! They’re getting exercise, seeing new sights and smells, and also bonding with their keepers. Seeing a zoo doing enrichment like this with their animals is a huge green flag, and it’s also fun to watch from a guest standpoint. - a zookeeper

Cheetahs don’t attack humans. There has never been a recorded cheetah attack. They’re like giant house cats.
