There should be a dedicated school in every locality for taking children in care onroll. virtual school do absolutely nothing and schools should have to evidence why they are not able to meet the kids needs after consultation. 9 months sometimes it has taken me to get a kid in a school by that time you have already lost them and to a kid it’s you don’t care about my education why should I?

Care homes can be fantastic but as soon as the children leave at 18, the care homes cannot continue the support, they are not supported the way they are in care homes. That’s the issue. There needs to be continuous support , not being dropped off a cliff edge.

@LittleHaris: You’re lacking insight and taking a narrow view. Children in care / care leavers after directly impacted by their traumatic experiences. The system unfortunately, allows children to only be removed once the harm has been caused. Children’s residential ends at 18, (sooner if they go into semi independence). There needs to be wider support in relationships post in residential. The cost of the placement is somewhat irreevant. Ulnless you’ve ran a home, you won’t recognise a lot of the hidden costs - hence why the cost of placements can be high
